Dr. Ankitkumar Ravjibhai Patel's achievements extend beyond his academic and research endeavours. He has received several prestigious awards and recognitions for his outstanding contributions to the field of Horticulture:
1. Best Ph.D. Thesis Award (2023): Dr. Ankit was honoured with the best Ph.D. thesis award for his remarkable contributions to the field of Horticulture in terms of his thesis entitled “Effect of fertility levels with micronutrient fortification and bio enhancer on growth, yield and quality of onion (Allium cepa L.)” presented on the occasion of 6th International Conference on “Strategies and Challenges in Agricultural and Life Science for Food Security and Sustainable Environment” at Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.
2. The Young Horticulturist Award (2022): Dr. Ankit was awarded with the young horticulturist award by Vigyan Varta Excellence Awards.
3. Best Article (2022): The best article award was received by Dr. Ankit for his article entitled “Vertical Farming: A new big thing” in Agriculture & Food: e-Newsletter.
Profile
Dr. Ankit completed his Ph.D. in Horticulture (Vegetable Science) in 2023, Master’s in Horticulture (Vegetable Science) in 2019, and Bachelor’s (Hons.) in Horticulture in 2017 from the College of Horticulture, Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University, Jagudan. He cracked the ASRB-ICAR NET exam in 2023. During his Ph.D., he researched the Effect of fertility levels with micronutrient fortification and bio enhancer on growth, yield, and quality of onion (Allium cepa L.), while his master's research was focused on the Effect of integrated nutrient management on growth, yield, and quality of bitter gourd (Momordica charantia L.), showcasing his commitment to enhancing crop productivity and quality through innovative agricultural practices.
Beyond his research, Dr. Ankit is actively involved in academic activities, including delivering lectures on various courses such as Production Technology for Vegetables & Spices, Protected Cultivation and Hi-tech Horticulture. His contributions to scholarly literature, including seven research paper publications, three review papers, ten farmer's related articles, one book, and five book chapters, further solidify his reputation as a prolific researcher in the field of Horticulture.
Dr. Ankit's dedication, qualifications and teaching abilities make him a valuable asset to GUNI-KKIASR and the field of Horticulture as a whole. His passion for advancing agricultural practices and his commitment to educating future generations of scholars make him an exemplary figure in this field.
