Profile

Dr. Hiral M. Patel stands out as a remarkable individual boasting a robust academic foundation and vast research expertise in Agricultural Economics. She earned her Master's degree from N.M. College of Agriculture, NAU, Gujarat, and completed her Doctorate from N. M. College of Agriculture, NAU, Navsari. Her research endeavours encompass a wide array of fields including Agricultural Economics, Macro and Micro Economic Analysis, Econometrics, Marketing and Price Analysis, Production Economics, Development Policy Analysis, Time Series Analysis, Multivariate Analysis, Statistical Methods, Agricultural Statistics.

During her Ph.D., Dr. Hiral Patel made a significant impact in the field of economic efficiency and total factor productivity in milk production in South Gujarat. Her work led to provide information about livestock population and their milk production pattern in the study area which would help in formulating development strategies for policy makers to improve the milk production and livelihood of the dairy farmers. Her work mainly focuses on the growth and instability of the livestock population and milk production of the South Gujarat and Gujarat. She also find out the cost and returns, Total Factor Productivity and its determinants, Technical efficiency and its determinants and constraints face by dairy households in South Gujarat region.    

In addition to her doctoral research, Dr. Hiral Patel conducted significant studies during her master's degree, with a focus on marketing cooperative. A large number of studies had been attempt but most of them focus on large scale cooperatives. Her study mainly focuses on small scale cooperative and provides more insight on the impact and performance of the small scale cooperative. It mainly investigate performance of the marketing cooperative, marketing cost, market margine and price spread of the horticultural produce i.e., mango, banana and sapota marketing, impact of this marketing cooperative on the members and non members of the jurisdiction of the cooperative society.

Beyond research, Dr. Hiral actively engages in academic activities, including delivering lectures on various courses such as Agriculture Finance and corporation. Her dedication, qualifications and teaching abilities make her a valuable asset to GUNI-KKIASR
