General Information

Dr. Ranjeeta Bhande has interdisciplinary work experience in areas such as agricultural and environmental engineering. Dr. Bhande has made a significant impact in the domain of wastewater treatment during her master's and PhD thesis. Dr. Bhande has received the MHRD Institute Fellowship at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Guwahati. She is GATE and ICAR-NET qualified. In her PhD thesis, she has focused on the thermoalkali pretreatment, anaerobic digestion of rice straw, and oxyanions (sulfate, nitrate and arsenic) removal from wastewater in batch and continuous reactors (attached growth type). She has experience in agriculture waste management by converting it into value-added products such as carbon source and developing sustainable and low-cost technology. She has experience in the designing and operation of bioreactors. Furthermore, in her M. Tech. thesis, she worked on sediment microbial fuel cells for treating the aquaculture used water and observed the cellulose degradation kinetics. Dr. Bhande has published several research articles and book chapters and presented her research work at national/ international conferences. She is recognised for her academic excellence and significant contributions to wastewater treatment and agriculture waste management.
