On September 28, 2023, KKIASR at Ganpat University organized an enlightening expert talk session titled "Application of Drones in Agriculture," featuring Dr. Satya Prakash Kumar, a distinguished scientist from the Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering. With 140 participants, the session commenced at 11:30 AM.
Dr. Kumar's comprehensive presentation included drone technology's applications in agriculture, covering various drone types, technical specifications, and their roles in mapping, plant protection, crop health monitoring, and yield estimation. He explained the workings of drones, their fundamental components, and detailed the physics behind drone flight. Additionally, Dr. Kumar showcased the integration of optical sensors with drones for capturing phenotypic traits. The presentation spanned applications in plant health monitoring, pesticide spraying, crop counting, yield assessment, irrigation monitoring, and even touched upon drone usage in dairy farming.
